I will insist because i know i am right. Let us all stop referring to it as the Cyprus problem. It is not! At least not from the perspective of Cypriots, and that's what truly matters, the Cypriot perspective.

The United Nations through a large number of resolutions recognizes Cyprus' Turkeyish problem to be two-fold:
It is by now evident to all objective observers that Cyprus does not have a Cyprus problem. It has, and it always had, a TURKEYISH problem!
The choice of spelling says it all!

Last but not least, let there be no doubt that if the lecturer in the cartoon was discussing Cyprus, the 'break point' on his chart would be labelled '1960' or '1959', the years foreigners had a "Cyprus" problem and drafted a constitution to meet everyone's interests but the Cypriots!
- an illegal invasion/occupation/colonization/ethnic cleansing by Turkey against Cyprus;
- an inter-communal conflict that lasted 12 months and was caused by Turkey's refusal to allow the tCypriots to discuss Makarios' 1963 proposals & subsequently Turkey's encouragement of self-segregation policies by tCypriot leaders as a stepping stone to eventual partition;
