Fear of Turkey's Cyprification

In any truly democratic country we would never witness such a gathering! In Turkey the soldier controls the nation's fate, as well as that of occupied Cyprus. His cautions his interlocutors that messing with his island project means Kemalism will have the last word! Most importantly, he sternly warns them that "the silly games with 'democratic' initiatives towards the 20 million strong Kurdish community are raising expectations for wide autonomy, recognition of Kurdish as an official language and even the transition to a federation. These may be beautiful bedtime stories but the reality is that you are playing with fire. We will end up with a reverse Cyprus at home and that would not be smart!"

Of the three, Erdoğan, Gül, and Başbuğ, who runs the show? Make no mistake about it. The soldier does! And the soldier will until a fundamental constitutional change takes place.

Turkey's Kurds & Cyprus' tCypriots

As either unitary state or federation solutions are discussed as replacements to Cyprus' 1960 and Turkey's 1923 unworkable constitutions, should we abide by "if a right is a right too many for Turkey's Kurdish community (circa 23% of population) then that right is a right too many for Cyprus' tCypriot community too (circa 15%), and vice versa." Is the adoption of this fair logic the catalyst to securing just solutions for both UN countries.
