Language Hypocrisy

Why is Turkish an official language in Cyprus but Kurdish not an official language in "Turkey"? Why are the EU and US silent?

Turks have always been a minority in Cyprus since they first appeared in the late 16th century, never founded a town and never constituted the majority in any Cypriot district, whereas Kurds are a separate people with their own lands, part of which constitute almost the entire east of "Turkey", historically known as north Kurdistan.

Both Turkish Cypriots and Kurds form circa 15-20% of their respective countries' populations.

Syria conflict: Why Cyprus backs Cameron on UK air strikes | BBC

Co-operating with its Western allies against IS allows Cyprus to showcase its geo-strategic value

: The comment on Playing 'Empire', by yours truly. Find at this link. Here goes: "We must throw the bases out. The sooner the better. They are the very reason the problem was instigated in the first place & the only reason bizonal apartheid is pushed as a possible solution. It's one thing welcoming the British people on our island, and it's totally another to allow the UK to play 'Empire' in the 21st century. Times have changed."

The Mood In The Region After Russia's Decision To Go After "Turkey"

Beyond perfect! Rhymes with my geopolitical mood too.

Everyone knew "Turkey" is a trouble maker & a facilitator of terror and the mass migration flow into Europe. Now someone has decided to take action. And he ain't joking. Kurds, Syrians, Egyptians, Armenians, Greeks, Israelis, Cypriots, and many others are happy. And they should be.

Bizonality would be celebrated with Allahu Akbars

If you are a European (in an EU with an evergrowing Muslim population) you should be extremely worried about a possible international legal precedent in EU Cyprus, called bizonality or BBF, that equates politically a Christian (historic) majority to a Muslim double digit (est. 12%) minority. Behind the adorable "secular" smiles of the Turkish Cypriot leader hides an Islam-premised segregationist philosophy that sees non-Muslims as inferior to Muslims, a philosophy that aims for equality until Islam becomes dominant. Thereafter it's the Islam way or the highway. Other Cypriots in the past have played the useful idiot's role. This is yet another instance. There are far less precarious ways than bizonality to safeguard western geo-strategic interests on the island for the Americans, British and Europeans to urgently consider before they enshrine into law their own societies' demise.

An amazing response to someone who thinks Muslims are not portrayed correctly

What a fantastic answer to a Muslim. We are tired of hearing this argument over and over again. It was refreshing hearing a politician speak so clearly on Islam!

My Note
: Hear, hear! And this, dear leftists/pseudo-progressives of Cyprus, is the same reason why the silent Turkish Cypriot majority is irrelevant. No dear Mustafa, you may not legitimize fascism, theft & ethnic cleansing, you may not have our towns and homes. Do the decent thing & simply get out.

Vienna and Cyprus: The Siege!

Battle of Vienna on September 12, 1683 (Painting: F. Greffels)

Bizonality is NOT a civilized setup. Neither was 1960. If you look closely you'll spot segregation in all of Turkish Cypriot demands, starting from the 50s. And there is no doubt for anyone that knows even the basics of Islam that segregation between Muslims and non-Muslims is a trademark of this religion-ideology.

Turkey's Oppression of Kurds - The 'Curfew' Tool

June 7 2015 election results - HDP creates history
by entering parliament for 1st time
The Turkish State and it's use of 'Curfews' as a tool to strangle the Kurds. Watch the 6 minute video here.

Today, the People of North Kurdistan (under Turkish Occupation) are paying the ultimate price for the record turnout and votes for the pro-Kurdish HDP in the 7th of June General Elections. The Turkish State is systematically conducting sieges, operations and imposing arbitrary curfews to dozens of Cities and Towns such as Mardin (HDP 73.22 % - 07/06/15) , Diyarbakir- Amed (HDP 77.3%) , Sirnak (HDP 83.89%), Van (HDP 73.79%) and Hakkari (HDP 83.89%) ahead of the 1st of November 're-elections.' Most Towns within these cities such as Cizre, Bismil, Nusaybin, Silvan and Sur had record turnouts for the HDP averaging 90% with the rest of the votes being cast by Military Personnel in the region. These towns are now the epicentre of conflict and massacres.

Turkey's Kurds & Cyprus' tCypriots

As either unitary state or federation solutions are discussed as replacements to Cyprus' 1960 and Turkey's 1923 unworkable constitutions, should we abide by "if a right is a right too many for Turkey's Kurdish community (circa 23% of population) then that right is a right too many for Cyprus' tCypriot community too (circa 15%), and vice versa." Is the adoption of this fair logic the catalyst to securing just solutions for both UN countries.
