All Cypriots must learn Greek!

Greeks make up the overwhelming majority [circa 90%] of Cyprus today. Greeks of Cyprus have an uninterrupted, documented historical presence on Cyprus for 4 millennia. Greek culture is the cradle of western civilization. It is thus only natural that all Cypriots, regardless of ethnic background, should learn the Cypriot language: Greek!  Click & LIKE this Facebook page!

Terrorist Unions

Turkey's court decision that the Kurdish Communities Union (KCK) is a terrorist organization is the equivalent of declaring "trnc" unions, the only authentic opposition to Ergenekon in occupied Cyprus, as terrorist organizations. Kurds in Turkey deserve no less than Turkish Cypriots in Cyprus & Turkish Cypriots in Cyprus do not deserve 1960 apartheid rights.

It's our very existence, stupid!

"We must at last sternly and decisively ask: Is there or not, among the active Greeks of Cyprus, a person with integrity ready to seek, directly from the Cypriot people, the mandate to implement a "program of correct course for Cyprus and Hellenism", as an independent, non-partisan, President of the Republic of Cyprus?

If so, he/she must announce immediately an independent and non-party affiliated candidacy, and share with the People her/his program without inhibitions and unrealistic expectations for support declarations. The Cypriot people and Hellenism deserve to have the right choice." - Panos Ioannides,  Κίνηση για ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΙΑ & ΔΙΚΑΙΟΣΥΝΗ ΣΤΗΝ ΚΥΠΡΟ

Turkish monkeys

How much longer can this tragicomic show be allowed to keep going? How much longer will the Turkish people, the Kurdish people and all those affected by Turkey's bullying and immature behavior put up with this Turkish fiasco going on since the 1920s under a "democratic" label?

The Cypriot people know

The Cypriot people know that a bi-zonal bi-communal federation would address the concerns of foreigners, NOT the legitimate interests of the Cypriot people! It is time we spell out the specifications of a Cypriot solution of Cypriots, by Cypriots, for Cypriots.

Nice words. How?

"We deserve a better country. A free, democratic country inside the EU. With citizens who won't have super privileges and the right to live at the expense of the majority. With citizens who won't have less rights than those of other Europeans. With citizens who won't be condemned to live forever under Turkey's guardianship and occupation." Demirtaş on language and Kurdistan

Demirtaş is the chairman for BDP, the Kurdish party in the landmass known as Turkey. You only need to watch the first two minutes of the eight minute video to appreciate: [a] the grand hypocrisy of Turkey in approaching tC & Kurdish rights [b] the main difference between Kurds of Turkey and tCs (ownership vs. theft).

Ps. Attention: Parent approval required by tC "children"

Demirtaş in London

BDP co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş was in London for a three-days visit where he spoke at two meetings held at the British parliament and at the Kurdish community center. The video lasts 20 minutes. Four demands are clearly spelled out (minute 6:50): [a] Kurdish identity to be constitutionally guaranteed in the currently debated Turkish charter [b] Kurdish language to be made official and used freely in the public domain [c] Kurds to be able to administer themselves through democratic autonomy [d] freedom for political association and organization under their own ethnic identity. I ask you all to consider: would Cypriots deny the Turkish Cypriot community (circa 80.000) these rights? Will the Turks deny the Kurdish community (20 million) these rights?

Stable, Successful & Sound

“The US strongly encourages both sides to stay at the negotiating table and evaluate in the best manner the UN proposals for reaching a strong, bi-zonal, bi-communal federation, which will secure a stable, successful and sound Cyprus - Victoria Nuland, US State Department Spokeswoman.

It is time we empower our next President (so far I have yet to hear of a better name than Eleni Theocharous) to tell those that have stood against us for decades [UK/US] that CYPRUS already is STABLE, SUCCESSFUL and SOUND. And why not, cut a deal with them.

Turkey's Kurds & Cyprus' tCypriots

As either unitary state or federation solutions are discussed as replacements to Cyprus' 1960 and Turkey's 1923 unworkable constitutions, should we abide by "if a right is a right too many for Turkey's Kurdish community (circa 23% of population) then that right is a right too many for Cyprus' tCypriot community too (circa 15%), and vice versa." Is the adoption of this fair logic the catalyst to securing just solutions for both UN countries.
